Venturers

Venturers cater for the 15/16 to 17 age group. Like other groups, the norm would be to meet weekly to discus and plan events, As a Venturer you could find yourself trekking with a friend across Ireland as part of the Explorer Belt, go along to the Ventact South which is a weekend event of adventure activities and meet with Venturers from around Ireland, or you might hit the Kerry for a weekend of adventurous hill-walking

Venturing offers the opportunity for youth members to mature and develop through activities and events that are designed by the Ventures themselves. Often Venture Scouts will help out with the other sections on events.

In the Venture program the emphasis is on the Ventures having more responsibility in the choosing of activities and planning and preparation of these events. Ventures also try to have a bigger part to play within the community and take on larger projects as part of youth development. The Venture program is usually based around Adventure, Personal Development, Skills, Service, Social and Spiritual and of course fun!!!

Ventures can work on the Gaisce award as part of their program. Groups around the country have even taken on projects such as traveling to places like Vietnam and India to work on building projects in those countries.Ventures can work on the Gaisce award as part of their program.
